Their son was born Tuesday on the sixth anniversary of the Sept. 11 terror attacks, and Kevin
and Julianne Braziel of Naugatuck couldn't be happier.
Kevin Braziel, 29, is a former sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps.
Originally from West Haven, he is currently working with the U.S. State Department for the diplomatic mission to Iraq.
has protected three U.S. ambassadors to that country.
completed three tours of duty in Iraq and served in Afghanistan following the Sept. 11 attacks.
will return to Iraq in January.

"It wasn't meant to be like this. (The birth) has turned a bad day into a good one.
The baby came early and, ironically enough, he
was born on Sept. 11."

In another ironic twist, Kevin Braziel
was wounded in Baghdad on July 10, Jasmine's 4th birthday.
"I was blown off a second-floor balcony" after a rocket exploded nearby, Kevin Braziel
suffered multiple shrapnel burns.
