Keum Hwa Choi, DVM, PhD, CVA, OMD Lac
Dr. Choi founded the Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) service at the College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Minnesota in 2001.
Through this service, she
provides Traditional Oriental Veterinary Medicine on small animals (mainly dogs and cats), large animals (mainly horses and occasionally cow) and raptors (eagles and hawks), teaches an Integrative medicine elective course and works as a course coordinator.
also provides senior rotation course electives and students from UMN or from other states take this course.
including acupuncture, food therapy, medicinal herbology, Chu-na (hand manipulation in TKM), neutraceuticals, and Oriental Medicine theory.
gives many lectures and presentations internationally and domestically.
also does research and has been published in peer reviewed journals and proceedings.
She works on the editorial board of American Journal of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine and Tang: International Journal of Genuine Traditional Medicine.
She serves as a section chief of CAM at the University of Minnesotaand on the Board of Directors of AAVA.
