Father Charles Kerschen, a Catholic priest, dismissed the debate over whether sexual orientation is a matter of genetics or choice as inconsequential.
What was really important, he said, was whether the LBGT community is likely to face widespread discrimination and whether that discrimination was unreasonable. The answer to both questions, he said, was yes. "There shouldn't be a right to discriminate on the basis of sexual identity and expression," Kerschen said.
