Head of Youth Business SVG, Kenrick Quashie is advising young people here to think about starting their own businesses. Speaking to NBC News this week, Mr. Quashie said if more businesses are established here, it can minimize the financial strain on the Government, to provide employment for everyone. Quashie said Youth Business SVG will this year collaborate with several agencies to build different business ideas in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Managing Director and Founder of Youth Business SVG, Kenrick Quashie says funding is being provided under the Accelerating Young Entrepreneurs Project, AYEP. He also says it is hoped that AYEP can also help At Risk Youth with start-up capital and mentorship for their business ideas.

Kenrick Quashie is the founder of Plenty Caring Organisation which was launched in 2009, the founder of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Youth Business Trust. He has held the positions of First Vice President and Public Relations Officer of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines' National Youth Council. He is a former student of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Community College and the North Union Secondary, and was Chairman of the National Student Council. He is former champion of the National Public Speaking Competition in 2002 and the Council's First Independence Debate in 2001. Added to that, Kenrick has represented his nation at the Caribbean Tourism Organisation's Youth Congress and then carried the title of Junior Minister of Tourism for the year 2003.
