Ken LawrenceKen Lawrence, Founder and President of Public Affairs Strategies, is a seasoned public affairs professional with extensive experience in the corporate, government, non-profit and political sectors.He is a registered lobbyist in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.Prior to launching Public Affairs Strategies, Ken worked for five years at Merck & Company, Inc. handling public relations, product support, community relations, corporate contributions, crisis communications, issues management, government relations and media relations.
During this time, Ken
managed two national disease-awareness campaigns, developed and implemented several community outreach programs and was recognized for his
lobbying efforts on state and local legislative matters.Before Merck, Ken worked for two years at the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce as a Public Policy Representative performing policy development and analysis, grassroots outreach, event management and lobbying on regional business issues.Ken has served as a staffer in two Congressional offices and worked for the PA Department of Education.Ken is a graduate of Temple University with a degree in Political Science.He is completing his Masters of Government Administration at the Fels Center of Government at the University of Pennsylvania. Ken is currently on the Board of Directors for the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce.Ken was unanimously appointed by the Montgomery County Commissioners to the board of the Valley Forge Convention and Visitors Bureau.In addition, Ken serves on the board of the James Finnegan Foundation which provides internships in state government.Ken

was recognized in 1999 as Big Brother of the Year.Ken was a founding board member of the Young Professionals Network of the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce.He is a past board member of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Montgomery County where he was Vice President and Chair of the Fund Development Committee, the North Penn Chamber of Commerce, the Community Advocacy Committee of the Sickle Cell Center at CHOP, the Corporate Leadership Council of the Philadelphia Zoo, the Big Brother Big Sister Association of Philadelphia, the Montgomery County Special Needs for Children Foundation, the 21st Century Society of the Philadelphia Orchestra, the North Penn Valley Boys and Girls Club, the North Penn United Way, the Times Herald Community Advisory Board and the WYBE Community Advisory Board.Ken
is an avid participant in the political process.He
has managed campaigns for U.S. Congress
and the PA General Assembly.Ken is a past Chairman of the Young America PAC, a bipartisan political action committee devoted to increasing the awareness, influence and participation of young professionals in the political process.He has served as a consultant, adviser and fundraiser for numerous candidates and elected officials.He is a frequent commentator on politics and government in various forms of media.Ken
