Ken Gutman, assistant superintendent for human resources and public relations coordinator for Lake Orion Community Schools, said common sense needs to prevail since defining what's appropriate and what won't "interfere with the educational process" isn't easy.

"By and large we have very few issues with dress code violations," Gutman
said."From time to time we get someone that comes in with the latest fashion that's not appropriate and we act quickly and with respect."
