Dr. Dobbins became the 17th president of Southeast Missouri State University on July 1, 1999 after serving as the University's Vice President of Finance and Administration from 1991 to 1993, and Executive Vice President from 1993 until his appointment as president. He previously held several positions in higher education administration at Kent State University in Ohio. During his tenure at Southeast, academic programs have been enhanced including the establishment of the College of Science, Technology, and Agriculture and the Earl and Margie Holland School of Visual and Performing Arts. Southeast continues to be recognized nationally for many of its outstanding accredited academic programs. Dr. Dobbins served as chair for the American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU) in 2010-2011, and is one of five presidents teaching in AASCU's academy for newly appointed presidents. "CADCA's goal of building, strengthening and expanding community coalitions to establish and maintain safe, drug-free communities is vital to our country and beyond. I am looking forward to providing a higher education perspective to CADCA's board of distinguished and dedicated members," Dr. Dobbins said.
