They will be bringing laptop computers and providing attendees with a hands on tutorial of programs they can use on the computer to keep heir brains active. "Perspectives on Brazil" will include presentations by local residents Renee Carpenter, Jacobus "Jim" Van Staveren, Gordon Bassett and Kenneth Barringer.Barringer, a clinical psychologist and minister, was clinical director of a mental-health practice in Sheboygan, Wis., and a professor of human behavior at Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa.In Sun City Center, he has taught a course at Community Church college and is chairman of the Mental Health Coalition of Sun City Center.Several years ago, a friend invited him to spend two weeks in his friend's hometown, Fernandópolis, Brazil, where as a Methodist minister, he assisted at a wedding.
