Kenneth Anderson is a nationally certified counselor with over thirty years of experience in the mental health profession. Currently, he is Dean of the Humanities and Social Sciences Division at Calhoun Community College, but recently accepted an offer to become the Multicultural Affairs Officer for the City of Huntsville beginning in April.
Kenneth is President of Maximum Life Enhancement, a business management and educational consulting firm specializing in leadership and employee development training, and he speaks nationally at conferences, schools, churches, and other venues. Since 1990 has been the host/producer of a live, weekly radio talk show called 2 nd Chance broadcast every Sunday on WJOU, 90.1 FM, Oakwood University's radio station @ 2pm CST). The show can be heard on www.wjou.org on the Internet. In conjunction with the show's 20th anniversary in 2010, Kenny established the Jack & Annie Anderson 2nd Chance Scholarship at Calhoun Community College for students who have overcome adversity in their life and desire a second chance to earn a degree or certificate.
Kenneth is a past Chairman of the Interfaith Mission Service's Racial Harmony Coalition and is a former member of the City of Huntsville's Human Relations Commission. He is community bridge builder and is committed to the work of creating alliances across matters of race, ethnicity, faith, culture, gender, class, sexual orientation, etc. He is a former board member and long-time supporter of the Boys & Girls Club.
Kenneth has written as a Community Columnist for the Huntsville Times and received numerous awards and recognitions for over two decades of community service. He has professional affiliations with the National Board of Certified Counselors, Alabama Education Association, Chamber of Commerce of Huntsville/Madison County, American Psychological Association, 100 Black Men of America- Greater Huntsville Chapter, the United Way of Madison County, and the Black African-American Christian Counselors.
Kenneth is married to Sonya (Tibbs) Anderson, a contract specialist for the Army Contracting Command.

Kenneth Anderson is a nationally certified counselor with almost three decades of experience as a mental health provider. He attended Oakwood College and Alabama A&M University earning degrees in Psychology and Clinical Psychology. Kenneth is enrolled at Capella University where he is completing a Ph.D. in Human Services.
Currently, he is the Chairman of the Social Sciences Division and teaches psychology courses at Calhoun Community College, the largest two-year college in the state of Alabama.
In 1994, Kenneth started Maximum Life Enhancement, Inc., a management and educational consulting business promoting lectures, professional conferences and training seminars on topic including: student success, leadership development, cultural diversity and life management.
Kenneth has professional affiliations with the National Board of Certified Counselors, 100 Black Men of America- Greater Huntsville Chapter, the Alabama Education Association, the North Alabama African American Chamber of Commerce, the American Psychological Association, the Faith Community Gathering on HIV/AIDS, Partnership for a Drug-Free Community, andtheInterfaith Mission Service's Racial Harmony Coalition.
In 1995, Kenneth founded an annual national family strengthening program held every fall. A strong believer in community outreach, he was a nominee for the 1997 President's Award, winner of the 1998 Omega Psi Phi Citizen of the Year Award, the 1999 New Life S.D.A. Church Community Service Award, the 2000 National Council for Community & Justice Award, the 2005 Interfaith Mission Service Media Award, and the 2008 National Council of the United Negro College Fund's Prestigious Outstanding Alumni Award.
Kenneth has published work in The Family as a Social Institution (Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 1995), The Encyclopedia of Multiculturalism, Salem Press, 1994), The DepartmentChair (2008) and was a community columnist for the Huntsville Times in 2001.
Kenneth is married to Sonya Anderson.
