Kenneth Anderson is a nationally certified counselor with almost three decades of experience as a mental health provider. He attended Oakwood College and Alabama A&M University earning degrees in Psychology and Clinical Psychology. Kenneth is enrolled at Capella University where he is completing a Ph.D. in Human Services.
Currently, he is the Chairman of the Social Sciences Division and teaches psychology courses at Calhoun Community College, the largest two-year college in the state of Alabama.
In 1994, Kenneth started Maximum Life Enhancement, Inc., a management and educational consulting business promoting lectures, professional conferences and training seminars on topic including: student success, leadership development, cultural diversity and life management.
Kenneth has professional affiliations with the National Board of Certified Counselors, 100 Black Men of America- Greater Huntsville Chapter, the Alabama Education Association, the North Alabama African American Chamber of Commerce, the American Psychological Association, the Faith Community Gathering on HIV/AIDS, Partnership for a Drug-Free Community, andtheInterfaith Mission Service's Racial Harmony Coalition.
In 1995, Kenneth founded an annual national family strengthening program held every fall. A strong believer in community outreach, he was a nominee for the 1997 President's Award, winner of the 1998 Omega Psi Phi Citizen of the Year Award, the 1999 New Life S.D.A. Church Community Service Award, the 2000 National Council for Community & Justice Award, the 2005 Interfaith Mission Service Media Award, and the 2008 National Council of the United Negro College Fund's Prestigious Outstanding Alumni Award.
Kenneth has published work in The Family as a Social Institution (Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 1995), The Encyclopedia of Multiculturalism, Salem Press, 1994), The DepartmentChair (2008) and was a community columnist for the Huntsville Times in 2001.
