SACRAMENTO - After a one-day bench trial, Jeffrey A. Catlett, 35, of Sutter, was found guilty Sept. 30 by United States Magistrate Judge Kendall Newman of violations of the federal Migratory Bird Treaty Act, United States Attorney Benjamin Wagner announced.
Catlett is scheduled to be sentenced by Judge Newman on Oct. 23.
Magistrate Judge Kendall J. Newman accepted guilty pleas from the eight defendants, most of them from Sutter County, on Wednesday.
Each pleaded to a single misdemeanor count of improper tagging game birds.
