Ken St. Pierre Joins San Diego Pride Team as Director of Development San Diego LGBT Pride has hired Ken St. Pierre as its director of development, which will involve obtaining financial support to sustain Pride's ongoing work in the community. St. Pierre joins the Pride team after serving as special event coordinator for Servicemembers Legal Defense Network, a position that had him traveling the country for planning fundraisers to fight the federal government's Don't Ask, Don't Tell policy. As Pride's director of development, he will assist in developing ties within the community for planned, annual and deferred giving, while meeting the challenges brought on by the slumping economy. A native of Massachusetts, St. Pierre helped found Momentum San Diego, a local group dedicated to bringing an end to Don't Ask, Don't Tell, and of which previously organized two large-scale dance parties on the USS Midway to raise legal funds for service members discharged under the policy. In addition, he served as a development officer for The San Diego LGBT Community Center, where he worked to secure corporate funding for major events such as AIDS Walk, The Center's annual gala and Nightmare on Normal Street, to name a few. In 2006, he was the recipient of San Diego Pride's Stonewall Community Service Award. Ken has a key role in our ability to pay for the annual Pride events and fund organizations that make a difference in the lives of LGBT people."
