Prior to joining Rentrak, Mr. Papagan served as General Manager and SVP of Broadband and Digital Media Services, for iXL, Inc., a $200M global IT professional global services firm.

While at iXL he
built a $20 million practice in less than 18 months and managed the P&L globally achieving unprecedented margins.
For 28 years, Ken Papagan has served as a consistent and unwavering evangelist for the enhanced TV services industry since its birth at QUBE, a Time-Warner/AMEX interactive service in 1977, where he began his career as an Associate Producer.
As both a consultant and programming development expert, he
consulted with a diverse group of clients and companies including TVAnswer/EON Corporation
, TCI Cable
, AT&T Broadband
, Corporation for Public Broadcasting
and others to devise programming and technology strategies.
Working with entertainment programming companies including Nickelodeon, The Movie Channel, MTV, ON TV (then the largest outlet for Pay-Per-View programming), The Fashion Channel, The JCPenney Shopping Channel and others, Ken developed and produced hundreds of interactive television programs spanning the genres of PPV Concerts ( Sophisticated Ladies Live From Broadway and the first Rolling Stones PPV event), Game Shows, Talk Shows, Town Meetings, Documentaries, Beauty Pageants and interactive commercials.
Mr. Papagan is a founding member of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences' Interactive Media Peer Group and currently serves on its Executive Committee Advisory Board.
is also one of the original members of the Board of Advisors for The American Institute's
Enhanced Television Workshop where he
has served as a project mentor during the first 4 years of the Workshop.
Ken earned a B.A. in Philosophy from Youngstown State University, completed course work for his Masters Degree in Photography and Cinema at The Ohio State University and won two consecutive scholarships to study advanced color photography at the Banff School of Fine Arts in Alberta, Canada.
