BOARD - Kenneth Bowman
Professor Ken Bowman AM was Chair, Budget Model Advisory Group and a Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Vice-Chancellor's Office) at Queensland University of Technology (QUT) in 2012.
Prior to this, he
was Deputy Vice-Chancellor
(Academic) from 2008 to 2012.
Professor Bowman was Executive Dean of the Faculty of Health at QUT from 1991 to 2008 and the Head of the School of Optometry between 1981 and 1990.
During both of these latter appointments Professor Bowman also served in various acting roles as Deputy Vice-Chancellor and as Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research).
As Executive Dean, Professor Bowman led the Faculty of Health in its significant teaching, research and external activities at a state and national level and in the Asia-Pacific region.
He was instrumental in establishing the Institute of Health and Biomedical Innovation at QUT and served as its Interim Director for two years.
External to the University, Professor Bowman
has been actively involved in a range of agencies.
He has been a member of the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC), the Australian Health Workforce Advisory Committee and served for several years on the Royal Brisbane and Women's District Health Council and the Brisbane North Regional Health Authority.
Professor Bowman was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) in 1999.
