Weather Team Kelly
is a Southern New England native.She
was born in Connecticut and grew up in North Attleboro, Massachusetts. Her
interest in weather came in the form of a summer afternoon thunderstorm when she
was seven years old.She
even collected the hail stones and kept them in a Ziplock bag in the freezer for five years. Kelly is a graduate of Bishop Feehan High School in Attleboro, Massachusetts and Lyndon State College in Vermont.
While at college, Kelly
recieved special recognition from the meteorology department for forecasting the Blizzard of 1993. Her broadcasting career began in 1996 at WMUR in Manchester, New Hampshire.She served as the weekend weather anchor and science editor.She
earned the National Weather Association
Seal of Approval for Broadcast Meteorologists.She was a member of the Christa McAuliffe Planetaruim and on the board of the Southern New Hampshire School to Careers Program.Kelly
was also an anchor of the Genesis Fund Telethon for children with birth defects and genetic disabilities.
After four years at WMUR
moved to Atlanta to forecast for Weatherplus
, a private company that provided 24 hour weather information and graphics for European cable television franchises. She
came home to New England and ABC6
in December of 2000.Kelly
can be seen weekends at 6&11pm.Kelly lives in Coventry with husband Michael and sons Maxwell and Nathan.
