Dr Kay Eilbert
Director of Public Health, London Borough of Merton
is a public health leader, experienced in addressing population health issues and health inequalities in the UK and abroad.
She worked for the NHS in East London before moving to Merton in March 2013.
ay started her
career as a UN volunteer and then as a professional with UNICEF
in Lesotho and Kenya, and with two international voluntary organisations.
focussed on maternal and child issues and the social determinants of health.
Building on this public health experience, she earned a Master and a Doctorate in Public Health to develop her professional career.
Kay provides public health advice as part of her work with the CCG and the wider Public Health team help us to determine our commissioning priorities based on the needs on Merton people.
is motivated by the significant health inequalities that exist across Merton
and is working with the CCG
to try to reduce these.
ay is an inveterate traveller, always looking for new places to discover locally and abroad.
