Soprano Linda Larson joins flutist Kay Borkowski in a Feb. 16 recital at Appalachian State University. Borkowski has been principal flutist with the Augusta Symphony, South Carolina Philharmonic, Fort Wayne Philharmonic and Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra. She also has been a flute soloist with the Indiana Chamber Orchestra, Tampa Bay Chamber Orchestra and the Hendersonville Symphony Orchestra. She is a member of the Hayes School of Music Advisory Board. She has been a guest soloist with the Wake Forest University Orchestra and the Hendersonville Symphony Orchestra. She also has made guest appearances with the Broyhill Chamber Ensemble during An Appalachian Summer Festival. Borkowski has taught at West Virginia University, Ohio University, Indiana University at Fort Wayne, Columbia College, Augusta College, University of South Florida and Appalachian. She received her bachelor's degree from Indiana University and master's degree from the Ohio State University.

Soprano Linda Larson, flutist Kay Borkowski, and pianist Bair Shagdaron gave their first concert together as "Inalare" in February 2010. In Bair Shagdaron, Larson and Borkowski have found an able partner who also brings "breath" to his music-making at the keyboard. Borkowski and Shagdaron have been members of the High Country music community as well as faculty members at Appalachian State University.
