Katie Crowe, Senior Pastor
firstname.lastname@example.org Originally from the tundra of Stevens Point, WI, Katie was raised in Alpharetta, GA where she and her parents became charter members of a new church development, Alpharetta Presbyterian Church. Katie interned with an AIDS Hospice in Atlanta and attended Berry College in Rome, GA where she majored in Religion and Philosophy. There she met her future husband, Rob, who works in healthcare human resources and operations, and volunteered at the Sexual Assault Center of NW Georgia as a rape crisis intervention counselor. After receiving her Master of Divinity degree at Princeton Theological Seminary, she completed a year-long Clinical Pastoral Education chaplaincy residency at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, a Level One Trauma Center in New Brunswick, NJ, focusing on the Medical ICU and Cardiac Intensive and Long-Term care units and on-call emergency care. Following her residency, Katie accepted a call to serve as Associate Minister for Service and Mission at First Presbyterian Church in downtown Charlotte, NC, where she served for close to eight years. There she led the congregation's global mission and local poverty engagement initiatives and preached a weekly Wednesday noon worship service. In addition, she served on the boards of the Charlotte Urban Ministry Center, Lakewood Preschool, Community School of the Arts, and as Treasurer and Strategy Team member of helping Empower Local People, a congregation-based community organizing entity. While in Charlotte, Katie helped to found a local chapter of Contemplative Outreach, dedicated to furthering the practice of Centering Prayer, and continues to serve as a workshop faciliator for the practice. Within the Presbytery of Charlotte, she served on the Committee on Preparation for Ministry, co-moderating the committee for two years, and sat on Council. She currently serves on the Committee on Ministry with the Presbytery of New Hope and is a board member for Housing for New Hope. She and husband Rob have two, four-legged children, Boxers Daisa and Madison.
We're also delighted to have Katie Crowe, Pastor at Trinity Avenue Presbyterian as moderator.
