Katie Crowe, Senior Pastor
Originally from the tundra of Stevens Point, WI, Katie
was raised in Alpharetta, GA where she
parents became charter members of a new church development, Alpharetta Presbyterian Church.
Katie interned with anAIDS Hospice in Atlanta and attended Berry College in Rome, GA where she majored in Religion and Philosophy.
future husband, Rob, who works in healthcare human resources and operations, and volunteered at the Sexual Assault Center of NW Georgia
as a rape crisis intervention counselor.
After receiving her Master of Divinity degree at Princeton Theological Seminary, she completed a year-longClinical Pastoral Education chaplaincy residency at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, a Level OneTrauma Center in New Brunswick, NJ, focusing on the Medical ICU and Cardiac Intensive and Long-Term careunits and on-call emergency care.
Following her residency, Katie accepted a call to serve as Associate Minister forService and Mission at First Presbyterian Church in downtown Charlotte, NC, where she served for close to eightyears.
led the congregation's global mission and local poverty engagement initiatives and preached aweekly Wednesday noon worship service.
In addition, she served on the boards of the Charlotte Urban MinistryCenter, Lakewood Preschool, Community School of the Arts, and as Treasurer and Strategy Team member ofHelping Empower Local People, a congregation-based community organizing entity.
While in Charlotte, Katie helped to found a local chapter of Contemplative Outreach, dedicated to furthering thepractice of Centering Prayer, and continues to serve as a workshop faciliator for the practice.
Within thePresbytery of Charlotte, she served on the Committee on Preparation for Ministry, co-moderating the committeefor two years, and sat on Council.
She currently serves on the Committee on Ministry with the Presbytery of NewHope and is a board member for Housing for New Hope.
