Kathy Sparks, Unionville, IN Kathy Sparks, a life long equestrian, has enjoyed showing her horses in 3 Day eventing, competitive trail riding, dressage and carriage driving, both singles and pairs. She has served as President and a member of the Board of Governors for the American Connemara Pony Society and continues to serve as a breed inspector and judge at Connemara Breed shows, as well as serving on the Board of USDFD. Currently, Kathy is a member of the faculty at Ivy Tech Community College, where she teaches Anatomy and Physiology and Biology, a teaching passion she has enjoyed for over 25 years. Her favorite equines continue to be Connemaras. She is fortunate to have bred three generations of two different family lines, who provide many hours of enjoyment both in harness and under saddle. When not in the classroom, Kathy works with her Shetland Sheepdogs, who serve as Pet Partners and work as therapy dogs. A native Hoosier, she holds degrees from Purdue University, University of West Florida and Western Washington University and lives in Brown County on 100 beautiful acres and spends time enjoying her garden and various fiber arts.
