Kathy Hockersmith, second vice-president of the Oldham County Fair Board, said there will be 15 to 20 food vendors selling everything from sausage and roasted corn on the cob to funnel cakes, cotton candy and hand-dipped ice cream.

Category winners receive a certificate that "they can proudly display in their home or office," Hockersmith
The pageant gets better every year, she
"The first year, the judges asked permission to change the best hair category to best buns," Hockersmith
said."Some of the men who enter don't have hair, and the ones who were bald felt like they didn't have a chance."Hockersmith
said that the Mr. Oldham County Pageant is an event that the participants have fun with throughout the year.Her
son, Patrick, recently graduated from Trinity High School
.He currently holds the title of Mr. Oldham County Fair.
"Patrick wore this outlandish suit to prom this year.He
looked like Jim Carrey in the movie 'The Mask'," she
"A lot of people don't realize how much we have to offer for little kids," Hockersmith
hopes that next year, a few carnival rides will be open during the day on Saturday so that contestants in the children's pageants can enjoy rides after the morning's events.
