Mr. Singleton was a veteran of World War II.He was a member of Old Dominion Lodge # 102 I.B.P.O.E ; a 50 year member of Star of the West Lodge , Prince Hall Masons ; a member of the Consistory of Prince Hall Masons ; and a 50 year member of the American Legion.He was a faithful member of Holomb Rock Baptist Church where he served faithfully as a trustee for 50 years , and as treasurer of the building fund.In addition to his loving and devoted wife , he leaves to cherish his memory a foster son , Willie Marshall of Lynchburg ; a step-son , Clyde V. Craighead and his wife , Earline of Mt. Laurel , N.J. ; three foster grandchildren ; three step-grandchildren ; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.The family is receiving friends at the residence.A funeral service will be conducted Saturday at 1 p.m. from Holcomb Rock Baptist Church , the Rev. Carl Hutcherson , Jr. officiating and the Rev. David Stewart , eulogist.Interment will be in the church cemetery.
