View Displayed Art
in Colorado Springs is proud to present the Kathryn Hart's
paintings which are full of mood and passion while capturing the panoply of the human experience.Loose, juicy brushwork make evident the artist's complete engagement in her
own work.Broken color and limited palettes set an ambience; dark shadows, lost edges and staccato values evoke mystery.
Kathryn says, "A painting with heart should come from the gut; expose a piece of the artist in a very raw way.Often, my choice of subject matter may be a surprise, even to me.Yet, it is that particular choice and its treatment which is revealing about me.Currently, I paint human energy and its universal connections.
hether in the urbanity of the streets or the depths of the inner soul, an undercurrent of energy emanates.
y goal is to create a work of art that is honest, unique and with a reason for being."
Imbued with abstract form overlaid with subjective treatment of content, Kathryn's paintings sing with intention.Ambiguity of space, often within the same shape, and hue interaction heighten the push-pull and makes her
work vibrate, invoking the viewer to participate.
Watermedia is the perfect medium to exploit the polarity between transparent and opaque passages in the same piece, adding to the dynamic treatment of space.Painting boldly and intuitively, Kathryn
enjoys the statements left by the artist's mark.
Although Kathryn is a relatively new painter, her talent is already nationally recognized and she has received numerous national awards and top honors, including First Prize, American Juried Art Salon and Best of Show three years running, Colorado Springs Art Guild Regional Annual Exhibition.
