The woman, Salette Latas, on Feb. 15 filed a statement of organization forming the political committee Latas for Council, said Oro Valley Town Clerk Kathryn Cuvelier.
The town is waiting until after the state's legislative session ends to give out those packets in case the Legislature changes election laws between now and then, Cuvelier
said. Candidate packets will be available in the Town Clerk's Office at Town Hall, 11000 N. La CaÃ±ada Drive, starting in September, she
said. Any person who wishes to run for the council needs to collect at least 174 signatures nominating them by the deadline, which is tentatively set for Dec. 12, 2007, Cuvelier
