Ms. Katarzyna Bednarz
has been representing the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (OOCP) from Poland within PROSAFE
Being the Head of Monitoring of the Market Surveillance System Unit in the Market Surveillance Department, Katarzyna is responsible for the implementation of the EU law in the field of 13th New Approach Directives (incl. TOYS, LVD, Machinery and PPE), the coordination and planning activities of the Trade Inspection and for the international cooperation.
represents Poland on European fora on Market Surveillance, akin to ADCOs (Administrative Co-operation Working Group) and SOGS MSG (Senior Officials Group on Standardization and Conformity Assessment Policy, Market Surveillance Group).
also supervises the Polish Rapex Contact Point.
In 1999 she graduated from the Cracow Academy of Economics, Faculty of Economic and Political International Relations and, in 2008, from the National School of Public Administration, in Warsaw.
has almost 10 years experience in public administration, including the implementation of the European Union pre-accession projects on behalf of the OCCP (e.g. PHARE 2002 - Market Surveillance [2002/000-605-02.01]) and assisting in audits of the European Court of Auditors, Poland, on custom service issues as an auditor of the Supreme Chamber of Control
(National Audit Office).
