The Eanes school board will reportedly hear a grievance filed by former West Ridge Middle School principal Karl Waggoner against district Superintendent Nola Wellman in a special closed session meeting set for Oct. 30 at 7 p.m. in the Eanes school district administration building.
Waggoner, who served as West Ridge principal for nine years, is currently employed by the district as an assistant principal at Westlake High School.
Eanes officials have not commented on his

declined to discuss details of the grievance, saying that he
had been advised by his
lawyer to hold his
comments until after the school board reaches a decision on the filing.
Kudos to Karl Waggoner
for standing up for himself - isn't that what we are all taught in school?
A little irony there.
I've known Karl
since we entered the district with a new 6th grader at HCMS back in 1996.
not only runs an exemplary campus, he
is an exemplary man.
deserved better than this rapid demotion that certainly seems to been executed in a manner designed to embarrass and cast doubt on a fine man.
I hope that the board will shed light on this, and either assure the public that this public flogging was justified, or intervene to make things right.
, thank you for all you have done, first for Connor, and now for Jack, and all the kiddos in those intervening 12 years.
was moved without cause or justifiable reason the District will wind up paying.
sued the school district, no other legal fees would be used.
You can also check how your tax dollars are being spent- as your username states, all finances are open records.
So what exactly do you disagree with in terms of how money is being spent?
And what does that have to do with Karl Waggoner?
And do you all think that Waggoner
was really demoted on a whim?
They'll run a smear campaign against Karl
through their various off-the-record sources or illegal websites.
I too applaud Mr. Waggoner
for standing up to protect his
integrity & make public the real reasons for this imbecilic demotion so close to the start of the school year.
Both my daughters have attended(one still does) WRMS
and all my observations with Karl
have been 100% positive and I've never seen a principal (& his
wife) so involved with all facets of the curriculum.
Good for Karl
is doing the right thing.
Disappointed parent: perhaps you are one of those who were used to the preferential treatment that Waggoner
gave to the chosen few.
may have given the appearance of listening, but never followed through on what he
I wish Karl
well, but I'm happy for the change.
was doing such a bad job at WRMS
why was he
not just outright FIRED!
I agree with "Yes we get to vote" - Waggoner
constantly displayed preferential treatment to a chosen few - as parents, we were very tired of his
favoritism to his
got transferred for multiple reasons, I am sure - one of which was his
ineffectiveness in communication.
We experienced it first hand on more thann one occasion - but we weren't favorites.
really did put in a back door - go check
I am sure, however, that our tax dollars are now going to be spent on a lawsuit being filed by Waggoner
The first comment is from me, and I am not Mr Waggoner's
does not need others writing for him as "Ramsay" does.
