Karl Milliron (LU2003) grew up in the family business and thought he'd work there after graduation from Ohio University with a degree in Business Administration. “But Dad had another idea,†Karl says, “He thought I should go work for someone else and then decide what was best for me. So I moved to Columbus and went to work in auto dealerships for five years, working primarily in the parts departments. At the end of those five years, Dad came to me and asked, 'So, are you going to come back or what?' I came back.†In 2008, Karl purchased the auto parts business from his Father, and today has the business, a truck line (Mid-West - dedicated to the auto parts business), and is a partner with Jim McKinney in a software development company for the used auto parts industry (McKinney Business Solutions).

Karl sees Richland County as one united business community that has evolved beyond the boundaries of municipalities. That's one reason he was happy to accept the position as Vice Chair of the Richland Area Chamber of Commerce. “We've grown beyond the turf mentality of the past,†he tells us. An avid defender of our Second Amendment rights, Karl and wife Jill enjoy traveling (short trips) . . . but their real relaxation is just being home. “We've got a beautiful home and a small creek that runs behind the house. Home is where I'm happiest.†In the obligatory “Say Something Nice About Leadership Unlimited†paragraph Karl said, “LU gave me a real appreciation for so much going on in Richland County I had no idea was happening. I also gained an appreciation for the people involved in making our county a great place to live.†People like Karl Milliron make this a better county by living here.
