Parkland School Division's Superintendent of Schools Tim Monds is pleased to announce that Karen Wendel will continue in her role as Assistant Principal at Memorial Composite High School.
has a diverse educational background.
She received her Bachelor of Education degree specializing in Social Studies and French in 1984 and in 1988 received her Master of Education degree in Counselling Psychology.

attended Parkland's Leadership: Great Leaders, Great Teams, Great Results Covey training.
Karen began her career with Parkland in September, 1999 as a Counselor/Special Education Coordinator at Graminia Community School.
In 2000, she transferred to Spruce Grove Composite High School where, in her role as counsellor, she was responsible for vocational, personal and crisis counseling for students in grades 10-12.
also monitored and assisted in educational planning and delivery for special education students.
From September 2005 to October 2009, Karen was the Coordinator/Department Head at the Spruce Grove Composite High School Outreach program where in her leadership role, she worked with staff to support student learners and improve curriculum delivery.
Karen has been acting in the role of Assistant Principal at Memorial Composite High School since the 2008/2009 school year.
