Karen Riley, Pharm.D., is currently the Regional Clinical Pharmacy Manager of Education and Quality Assurance for the Windsor Hospitals (Hotel Dieu Grace Hospital and Windsor Regional hospital) in Ontario, Canada. Before accepting this management position, her practice areas as a clinical pharmacist for 18 years included medicine, cardiology, surgical ICU, outpatient oncology and outpatient hemodialysis.
In her current role, she manages all of the pharmacy student programs for many different schools of pharmacy, provides education to staff pharmacists and tests competencies, runs the Pharmacy and Therapeutics committee and is the Pharmacy Residency Coordinator.
Over the years, she
has been involved in developing many pharmacy programs at the three hospitals at which she
still maintains patient contact by teaching the cardiac and stroke medication classes at the hospitals and through a consulting position doing home visits for a community pharmacy on weekends.
She completed her undergraduate degree in pharmacy from the University of Toronto in 1983 and her doctorate of pharmacy degree from the University of Florida's Working Professional Pharm.D. program in 2002.
She is a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist and a Certified Geriatric Pharmacist.

Leadership Academy graduate from 2010.

She has been a facilitator in the Detroit and Tampa areas for the University of Florida Pharm.D. program for the last 8 years.

actively mentors P3 and P4 pharmacy students from Wayne State University, University of Toronto, University of Waterloo and other pharmacy schools
She is the Continuing Education Coordinator for the Ontario College of Pharmacists for her region.
also works with Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada developing and assessing pharmacist candidates for licensing.
