Despite the demands of her role as Adelphi University's director of media relations, Kali consistently makes time to advance her own knowledge and to share her growing expertise with others.In her current role as PRPLI president, she oversees 12 committees and finds the time to mentor and train future leaders in the communications industry or those in transition to gain a competitive advantage in the marketplace.

Kali has been a public relations, communications, events, and marketing professional for more than 17 years.
She joined Adelphi University in 2005 and currently serves as director of media relations of a nationally-ranked university.She dramatically expanded Adelphi's positive coverage in both traditional media as well as new media.
As director, she is charged with developing, executing, and managing university-wide media relations activities for the eight schools, dynamic learning hubs, Performing Arts Center, community outreach organizations and outstanding undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs.Her responsibilities include preparing faculty experts and senior administrators to provide subject matter expertise for media interviews.
In addition, her role encompasses the creation of university news content and remaining active on social media channels to build relationships and awareness.
Kali's enthusiasm and results-driven attitude make her a valuable connection to reporters and PR professionals.
She has guest lectured in classrooms and served on a panel for Pitching Long Island: Who, What, Where, When and Why.
She has garnered tremendous year-over-year growth in national and international media coverage for the university, with top 100 media placements in the Wall Street Journal, Newsday, New York Times, New York Post and The Washington Post, among others.
Through her efforts, the University consistently has increased the percentage of hits over last year's academic period.
Her extensive experience has earned her top industry awards.
She is the recipient of a variety of recognitions for her publicity campaigns, and placements or contributions to university publications, including a MarCom Award from the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals, Communicator Award for the publicity campaign category from the Academy of Interactive & Visual Arts, to name a few.
In 2011, she was honored as a top communications professional and received the Achievement in Communications Award from the Long Island chapter of IABC (International Association of Business Communicators).
Her solid reputation on social media earned her a Shorty Award nomination for producing quality content on Twitter (@AdelphiUtweets) and Best Publicist nominations from Long Island Press Best of Long Island Contest.
In September 2012, she received the President's Award for Excellence in Service for her strong dedication that has contributed to the success of Adelphi.
She is passionate about giving back and playing a role in the community to improve the lives of others.
Since the inception of the Girl Scouts of Nassau County's Girls Go the Distance, Kali has dedicated her time and energy to serve on the Walkathon Committee to make it one of the most educational and successful fundraising events on Long Island, not only for the young girls but for families.
Prior to Adelphi, Kali was the assistant director of communications and special events for Girl Scouts of Suffolk County, the largest youth-serving agency on Long Island.During her many years at the nonprofit, her responsibilities included public relations, marketing, special events, fundraising, graphic design, and photography.Early in her career, she served as the assistant to the executive director for the Greater Patchogue Chamber of Commerce.
