AALTONEN, Kaarina, of Port Dover, at Dover Cliffs Nursing Home, in her 95th year, our beloved mother went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, March 19, 2008. Kaarina was born in Finland. She spent most of her adult life in Port Dover and loved this town. She was the daughter of the late Kaarle Grönröös and Hilma Pohjanmäki. Kaarina was the last surviving member of her siblings. She is predeceased by her husband Urpo (1976). She is survived by her loving daughters, Renée (Irene) and her husband Bert and children Meghann and Adam; Mona and her husband Roger and family; her nephew Seppo Sjöman and his wife Liisa and family in Finland. Predeceased by her nephew Kauno Grönröös, who is survived by his wife Claudia and family and many other relatives in Finland. Kaarina worked very hard all her life, beginning with housekeeping for several families and ending with the Erie Beach Hotel for the Schneider family. Kaarina lived her life for her daughters and adored her grandchildren. She was a member of Grace United Church and the U.C.W.
