Station Film's Justin Reardon likes to see comedy in a different light.
Director Justin Reardon, whose recent work includes an EA spot that recasts golf as a team sport like football (see "Team Golf"), has signed with Station Film in the US for TV commercials and digital content. He moves over from Anonymous Content. The director has just booked his first Station job-a shoot for Cox Communications via Doner in Michigan. "I like working with people to create something fresh and unique," says Reardon, a versatile comedic storyteller with a visual flair to match. His sensibilities are evident in spots he's directed for Ubisoft in an adrenaline-driven spot titled " Let's Go Ride" via Cutwater, featuring star snowboarder Sean White, and in the rock-operatic "Paradise by the GoPhone Light" for AT&T via BBDO New York, starring none other than Meat Loaf himself. Reardon spent the past four years at Anonymous Content. "Michael has been a fan of my work since I was back on the agency creative side," says Reardon, who early in his career as an art director at DDB Chicago co-created the iconic Budweiser "Whassup" campaign. "Michael brought me to Anonymous," Reardon continues. "It's great to be reunited with someone as talented as Justin," Di Girolamo says. In addition to the "Team Golf" spot Reardon recently directed a spot for EA's Tiger Woods PGA Tour,via Heat San Francisco, he's also directed over a dozen spots for Comcast via Goodby Silverstein & Partners, including "Body Builders," "Stunt Doubles," "Chipmunk" and "Duet Talk," to note a few. Reardon burst onto the directing scene in 2003 with spec spots he wrote, directed and edited-Nutrigrain's " Feel Great" and Budweiser's "Magic Bottle," among them. Produced by Turnpike Films, both amassed over 20 million hits on various blogs and sites, becoming among the first viral sensations. Reardon just completed his first short film, "Zoltan: The Hungarian Gangster of Love," and has two features in development: Warner Bros.' "The Awakening of Jean-Luc Barbara " and the indie film "Convention," with "Rushmore"'s Paul Schiff producing.
