Justin Moore at MLB Fan Cave NYC 09/18/13
MLB Fan Cave.com Concert Series featuring Justin Moore Southern cowboy crooner Justin Moore looked right at home as he took the stage last night at the MLB Fan Cave in downtown NYC last night for an exclusive interview and free public performance. First up, a group of 60 lucky competition winners from Country stations WKMK (Jersey) and Nash FM (New York) got a special meet and greet with Moore and were invited to attend a private interview taping directly afterword. Cave Dweller and Justin Moore fan April conducted the exclusive interview with the rising country star. The interview consisted of 16 pre selected and fan submitted questions which Justin answered with his regular southern charm talking about his small town childhood, love of baseball and his affinity for the Atlanta Braves team. The full interview will be available on www.MLBFanCave.com shortly. Next was the main event, a free public performance by Moore right in the Heart of the MLB Fan Cave. Moore came out looking relaxed and casual in a baseball cap, classic denim shirt and blue jeans. He kicked off the set with an energetic rendition of "Backwoods" from his 2009 Self Titled Debut Album. He then took a minute to chat to the fans and thank everyone for their support on his recently released 3rd Studio album "Off the Beaten Path". Next, Moore serenaded the audience with his first big love song "Til My last day" off his 2011 sophomore album "Outlaws like me". The crowd was swaying and singing along completely mesmerized. Then it was time for a song from his new album "Off the Beaten Path". "One Dirt road" is a touching reflection on what heaven might look like and is filled with classic country imagery like "honey hole" and "100 year old oak tree". Moore explained how the song evokes memories of his Grandmother who recently passed away. The crowd listened quietly as he performed with obvious emotion. Next up he raised the temperature with "Bait a Hook" from "Outlaws Like Me". Another crowd favorite, Moore had the fans singing and dancing with this catchy tune. He slowed things down with his first #1 single "Small Town USA" from his self titled album. His homage to small town life is filled with the sights and sounds of his youth and you could feel the sense of familiarity and admiration he has for the "simple life". Performing this song in particular in the heart of one of one of the biggest and busiest cities of the world must be an interesting experience for Moore. After all, we are pretty much the furthest from a small town as you can get! Moore closed the show with current smash hit chart single "Point at You". From the moment he played the first few bars of the intro the fans started to cheer and when he started to sing so did every other person in the room, myself included!
