The Union Cabinet of India appointed Justice DK Jain as Chairman of 20th Law Commission of India. Justice Jain, 64, took over as the chief of the law panel on January 24 after retiring from the Supreme Court on the same day. PA Sangma, who broke away from the NCP in 2012 to contest the presidential elections, has launched his own party, the National People's Party (NPP), and chosen a book as its symbol. He has chosen to align his party with the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance. The Odisha government launched the much-sought after 'Public Service Delivery' System for citizens under the Odisha Right to Public Service Act, 2012. nder the new act, people will get services like issue of driving license, birth and death certificate, passport and trade license within stipulated time. he act was passed during the winter session of the assembly in December 2012.Odisha is the 12th state to implement the law.

Hooda said this at a meeting held with Chairman, Haryana State Human Rights Commission, Justice Vijender Jain, here recently. The Chief Minister assured that the state government would provide all possible assistance to the commission for its smooth functioning.

Jain, Chairman of State Human Rights Commission and Retired Chief Justice of Karnataka High Court, as the Chief Guest during the State Level Advocacy Seminar on May 26th, 2006 at Hotel Maharani Plaza for the Child Domestic Workers under the project called 'Hum Bhi Bachche Hain' run by CUTS Centre for Consumer Action, Research and Training (CUTS-CART) for the last one year in partnership with Save The Children (UK). He further said that the laws will have to ensure that the parents of these children fulfill their responsibilities and that they don't send their children for meager benefits. Along with this there will have to be a check on the greediness of the employers. Justice Jain further stated that although many laws exist in order to ensure the Right to Equality but the implementation is very weak.
