The Union Cabinet of India appointed Justice DK Jain as Chairman of 20th Law Commission of India. Justice Jain, 64, took over as the chief of the law panel on January 24 after retiring from the Supreme Court on the same day. PA Sangma, who broke away from the NCP in 2012 to contest the presidential elections, has launched his own party, the National People's Party (NPP), and chosen a book as its symbol. He has chosen to align his party with the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance. The Odisha government launched the much-sought after 'Public Service Delivery' System for citizens under the Odisha Right to Public Service Act, 2012. nder the new act, people will get services like issue of driving license, birth and death certificate, passport and trade license within stipulated time. he act was passed during the winter session of the assembly in December 2012.Odisha is the 12th state to implement the law.

Justice N.C. Jain having born on the 5th of April, 1939 in Karnal a district in joint Punjab, in the family of a lawyer Shri R.S. Jain, Advocate, initially had schooling in Sanatan Dharam and D.A.V. Schools at Karnal, he studied law in Delhi University.After practising with his father for about six months, Justice Jain shifted to High Court, Chandigarh in July,1962 and was designated as senior Advocate in the year 1982.He was elevated to the Bench from the Bar as a permanent Judge on 27th of June, 1988.He remained a Judge of the High Court for a little less than 12 years.He worked for one year as Acting Chief Justice and Chief Justice of Gauhati High Court.He has taken over as Chairperson of the Punjab State Human Rights Commission on 27/2/003 for a full term of five years.

Hooda said this at a meeting held with Chairman, Haryana State Human Rights Commission, Justice Vijender Jain, here recently. The Chief Minister assured that the state government would provide all possible assistance to the commission for its smooth functioning.
Justice Jain, who has also served as the Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court, apprised the Chief Minister with the structure and functioning of the commission.

Chandigarh, March 11: The new Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court, Mr Justice Devinder Kumar Jain, was administered oath of office by the Haryana Governor, Mr A.R. Kidwai.
Prior to this appointment, Mr Justice Jain was a pusine Judge of the Delhi High Court. Mr. Justice Jain takes the seat vacated due to the transfer of the previous Chief Justice, Mr Justice B.K. Roy to the Guwahati High Court.
Born at Jandiala Guru village in Amritsar district, Mr Justice Jain was a leading lawyer before being elevated as Judge of the Delhi High Court. Haryana Chief Secretary Sunil Ahuja, who conducted the proceedings, read out the warrant of appointment of Mr Justice Jain as Chief Justice.
The order of appointment of Mr Justice Jain as Chief Justice was issued by President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam on March 4.
