When Junior Noboa
watches those hands, he
sees a .300 hitter.
It's what he
has seen since the first time he
laid eyes on him as a 16-year-old Venezuelan at a tryout eight years ago.
"When we first saw him, we knew that Parra was going to hit at every level," said Noboa, the Diamondbacks' director of Latin American operations.
said scout Miguel Nava discovered Parra in Venezuela and the club held a workout for him in Florida during the summer of 2004.
"I remember when we signed him," Noboa
said, "someone with the Yankees came to me and said, 'You guys signed a good player.
