Academy spokeswoman Julie Quinn confirmed the report and said the first student displaying symptoms came to the health center Sunday night, with more students showing up on Tuesday.
Specimens from those five students tested positive, and Quinn
said results came back to PEA
on Tuesday evening.
The students are not from a common dormitory and are not, as far as school officials can tell, from any one area of the country, Quinn
"I don't think it substantially affects the day-to-day life of the students," Quinn
The town of Exeter had been notified of the cases, according to Quinn
"We've been meeting about this over the summer, knowing that this was a possibility," said PEA Communications Director Julie Quinn.
"We will be handing out thermometers, hand sensitizers and have contingency plans in place in case this affects a number of students."
This past spring, two PEA students were diagnosed with H1N1
and one came down with the illness during the academy's summer session.
They have all recovered, Quinn
