Julie is excited to be forecasting weather for CBS 11 News and North Texas.Originally from Pennsylvania, she has family living in the Lone Star State, previously in Port Lavaca and now in Austin and San Antonio.
Julie has experience forecasting many types of weather including: snow, sleet, freezing rain, thunderstorms, tornadoes, flooding, and even hurricanes.Julie's career path has taken her to many cities.She came to CBS 11 News from WPXI-TV in Pittsburgh, where she did the morning and noon weekday weather.Before that, she worked as the Chief Meteorologist at WPHL-TV in Philadelphia; WHP / WLYH-TV in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania as the prime-time meteorologist; WTAJ-TV in Altoona, Pennsylvania as the weekend weather forecaster and weekday reporter; WTOV-TV in Steubenville, Ohio as a part-time weather forecaster.She has also worked at WMBA-AM as a news anchor / reporter and host in Ambridge, Pennsylvania.
Julie graduated with a degree in journalism and a minor in theater.She earned her Certificate of Broadcast Meteorology from Mississippi State University.Julie has been awarded the Seals of Approval from the American Meteorological Society and the National Weather Association.She has also won 2 Emmys for Outstanding Weathercaster.
Julie is involved in many charitable organizations and enjoys teaching children about weather and television.She and her husband recently welcomed their first child, a baby boy, to the family.They also have two dogs and a cat.Julie loves to travel, and she tries to take as many trips as possible to learn about different people and places.

Julie Bologna returns to Dallas/Fort Worth as a Meteorologist at WFAA-TV. Prior to WFAA, she was the Chief Meteorologist for WPXI-TV in Pittsburgh, PA where she did the 5, 6, 10, and 11 p.m. She is no stranger to North Texas. She worked as a morning meteorologist in Dallas/Fort Worth at CBS 11, KTVT-TV.
Julie's career has taken her to many cities including: Philadelphia (WPHL-TV), Harrisburg (WHP/WLYH-TV), and Altoona (WTAJ-TV). She's also worked at WTOV-TV in Steubenville, OH and WTRF-TV in Wheeling, WV. She began her career in radio at WMBA-AM in Ambridge, PA as a news anchor and co-host.
Julie grew up in Pittsburgh, PA. She graduated with a degree in Journalism from Penn State University, where she also minored in Theater. She received her Certificate of Broadcast Meteorology from Mississippi State University. She has been awarded the Seals of Approval from the National Weather Association (NWA) and the American Meteorological Society (AMS), including the Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM) Seal of Approval.
Julie has been honored with several awards, including two Emmys for Outstanding Weathercaster and two first place awards for best weathercast by the Pennsylvania Associated Press Broadcasters Association. She's also co-authored a book about weather called "The Complete Idiot's Guide to Extreme Weather."
Julie loves to travel and enjoys learning about new people and places. She loves to check out new restaurants when she can. She enjoys baking, watching movies, and lounging outside by the pool. She can't wait to get to the gym for spin class, kick boxing, and swimming. Her favorite thing is just hanging out with her husband and two sons.
