At a recent meeting the Aston Township Lions honored James and Judy Persing as Humanitarians of the Year.
James was born in Sunbury, Pennsylvania moving to the area where he joined the Feltonville Junior Fire Company. He later joined the Green Ridge Fire Company and became its President and Life Member. James was an Aston Township Commissioner for sixteen years and President of the Board of Commissioners for a period of six years. James and Judy Persing James has been a member of the CCMC Auxiliary for over twenty years and now serves as President. He had helped with the Frank A. Staus Blind Day Camp for several years and serves the American Red Cross as disaster volunteer Chairman. Judy was born in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania. She joined the CCMC Auxiliary more than twenty years ago. She is a member of the Aston Lioness Club serving in various capacities. She has also served for several years as a volunteer at the Frank A. Staus Blind Day Camp. Judy is a Red Cross Disaster Volunteer. Judy and Jim have served on seven Red Cross disaster teams in Florida, Texas, Louisiana, and Yardley, Pennsylvania. They have also helped with the Habitat for Humanity in Coco Beach, Florida for a period of three weeks. It is with great pride the Aston Township Lions have made Jim and Judy Persing our Humanitarians of the Year. They were presented
