...Dr. Judy Muyskens came to the Appalachian College Association in March 2007 to take the newly formed position of Vice President for Academic Programs.In this position, endowed by the Mellon Foundation, she will work with the chief academic officers and faculty of the colleges and universities in the ACA.Prior to coming to the ACA, she served as academic vice president and dean of faculty at Colby-Sawyer College in New London, NH, from 1998-2005.
During that time she
worked with faculty and staff to revise the liberal education program on campus and to blend academic affairs and student development.During her last two years at Colby-Sawyer College (2005-07) she served as vice president for advancement and interim vice president for enrollment to support the college during times of transition.Before that, Judy spent many years at the University of Cincinnati where she was a Professor of French and headed the Department of Romance Languages and Literatures before serving as director of the University Honors Scholars Program.
