Coalescence is a percussion duo comprised of musicians Judy Moonert and Gregrey Secor, who have played together for over fifteen years in a variety of musical settings, ranging from the symphony hall to contemporary mixed instrument and percussion chamber ensembles.
Judy Moonert is director of percussion studies at Western Michigan University and Principal Percussionist with the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra. Under her direction, the WMU Percussion Ensemble presented a showcase concert at the 1998 PASIC. She adjudicated the 1998 Percussive Arts Society Composition Competition, presented a FUNdamentals clinic at 1999 PASIC, and performed at the 2002 PASIC "Focus Day".

Judy Moonert is a Professor of Music at Western Michigan University where she serves as director of percussion studies. Current principal percussionist with the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra, she has also performed with the Grand Rapids Symphony Orchestra, Fort Wayne Philharmonic, Evansville Philharmonic and the Owensboro Symphony Orchestras.
Ms. Moonert is a percussionist with the award-winning 'Opus 21'-Music Without Boundaries chamber ensemble, premiering and recording contemporary works representing representing a broad range of styles including classical, jazz and world music by prominent American composers. Performances with 'Opus 21' have included concerts at Merkin Hall, the Knitting Factory, the Symphony Space in New York City and the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. As an advocate for new percussion compositions, she has premiered compositions by Richard Adams ("Beat It" and "Brush Off" at Carnegie's Weill Recital Hall) and Ramon Zupko ("Fluxux XIII" for mallet soloist and tape).
Ms. Moonert was a clinician at the 1999 PASIC and adjudicated the Percussive Arts Society 1998 Percussion Ensemble Composition Competition. In addition, she has adjudicated the Music Teachers National Association Regional and National Collegiate Percussion Competitions. Under her direction, the Western Michigan University Percussion Ensemble presented a showcase concert at 1998 PASIC.
