"For the best selection, the best thing is to check back every week," said Judy Goldie, owner of Phase II, Trendy Pieces, and the upcoming Bella's Boutique.
"With independent boutiques, we receive shipments differently than retail stores." Goldie explained that oftentimes, locally owned, independent stores may only receive a few pieces - say six - of a particular item rather than a rackful. "For those looking for good sales, you should check with us (at Trendy Pieces) after we receive new merchandise, because older items will be moved to the sale racks to make room for new things," Goldie said.

"I've told everybody that the scarf is the it accessory of the season," said Judy Goldie, owner of Trendy Pieces on Public Square.
"A lot of people have been wearing the loop, but there's a new way that we've learned to tie them," Goldie said. She demonstrated a variation of the loop (folding a long, straight scarf in half and pulling the ends through the loop created by your fold). "Instead of pulling both ends through at the same time, you pull one through the loop, twist, then pull the other through," she explained. Scarves can also take you from casual wear to evening wear. "There so many types," Goldie said. "We have the full shawl that can be worn with your sleeveless evening dresses this season." To get double duty out of your shawl, try tying it as you would a scarf as well. "The scarf is definitely for warmth, but it's mainly for fashion this season," Goldie said.
