...Judith H. Jacobs, Dr.P.HDr. Judith Jacobs received her bachelor of sciences degree from the University of Massachusetts and her masters and doctorate in public health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. After finishing her graduate degree she served as a Research Associate with a faculty appointment at the Radcliffe Institute and Harvard University's School of Public Health from 1974 to 1976.She then served as faculty at Temple University for one year in the Department of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance prior to going to the National Institute of Mental Health in 1977.She started at the Institute as a Compliance Officer in the Community Mental Health Services Support Branch and advanced to Acting Chief of that division in 1982 and became the Director of Research and Evaluation in the Child and Family Support Branch in 1983.In 1989 she joined the Connecticut Department of Children and Youth Services as an Executive Assistant to the Commissioner and became the Acting Director of the Mental Health Unit in 1991.
A year later she
went to the Boston Department of Health and Hospitals
as a Special Assistant to the Commissioner on Mental Health and in 1995 became the Associate Director for Policy and Program Development in the Urban Health Institute for Policy and Research
.In 1993 Dr. Jacobs started working as an independent consultant and has worked with a variety of mental and public health services organizations over the years. Dr. Jacobs joined the field staff of the ACGME in July 2001.She
resides in Bellaire Texas with her
husband and daughter.
