Juan M. Berrios - Solo Tenor Horn
Juan M. Berrios is a horn player and an aspiring conductor currently pursuing degrees in Music Education (BME) and Horn Performance (BM) at the University of Central Florida in Orlando, FL.
is a Music Scholarship recipient and has received several awards in the past few years from the UCF
Music Department including the highly prestigious Presser Foundation Scholarship (2008).
Most recently, Juan
was unanimously selected as the winner of the annual UCF Performance Excellence Award Competition and was awarded a full scholarship to attend the Aspen Music Festival and School in 2009.
Juan is an active performer and student at the University of Central Florida as well as an active freelance musician and clinician/private instructor in the Central Florida area.
has performed as principal horn with the UCF Symphony Orchestra, UCF Chamber Orchestra, and UCF Wind Ensemble since 2006 as well as the Colbourn Brass Quintet and other chamber ensembles.
has been a featured soloist with the BBCF
on numerous occasions, most recently on the band's latest CD recording.
In addition to performing at UCF
and with the BBCF
has performed with the Villages Community Symphony Orchestra, the Space Coast Oratorio Society
, and will perform as a regular member of the Space Coast Symphony Orchestra
on their 2009-10 inaugural season.
has attended/performed in master classes with Eli Epstein, David Wakefield, John Zirbel, Kendall Betts, Philip Myers, Richard Chenoweth, the members of the American Horn Quartet (Charles Putnam, David Johnson, Geoffrey Winter, and Kerry Turner), Alex Shuhan and the Boston Brass.
