Joshua Paxson - PCIA Single Pitch/Lead Climbing Instructor
Joshua has been climbing for several years, since he started school at Appalachian State University. In his relatively short climbing career, Josh has gained valuable experience through his participation with Outdoor Programs at ASU, working for Rock Dimensions, and cutting his teeth in the High Country climbing around Boone NC. Josh can be seen most often in Linville Gorge, enjoying the great exposure and traditional climbing. Joshua shares his love of adventure through the movement and skills of all types of climbing. Clean climbing and traditional ethics also shape Joshua's climbing and guiding mentality. Joshua is also an avid caver and appreciates the challenge and opportunity of the underground world. As a cave guide, Josh enjoys sharing the fragile and beautiful environment of caves through respectful and safe interaction. Joshua's certifications include Wilderness First Responder and CPR for the Professional Rescuer through SOLO Wilderness Medicine. Josh completed the Climbing Wall Instructor course through the Professional Climbing Instructors Association (PCIA) in May 2008, and achieved his PCIA Single-Pitch/Lead Climbing certification in October 2008. "Just wanted to let you know that we had a GREAT time today. The climbing was awesome, and Josh is an extremely competent, easy-going, and friendly guide.
