Josh Perlstein, president of Response Media, a digital agency specializing in relationship marketing and customer acquisition solutions, participated in a panel session at the 2011 Email Evolution Conference in Miami, on February 1, 2011. The conference, sponsored by the Email Experience Council and the DMA, focused on how email and digital media can drive the most ROI by utilizing a multichannel strategy.
Josh joined Joel Book, principal, Marketing Research & Education Group, ExactTarget, and Mindi Staley, senior specialist, Interactive Marketing, Scotts Miracle-Grow on the panel entitled, “How Engagement Marketing Techniques Capture More Relationships and More Customers.†Josh’s comments focused on how to initiate brand-consumer relationships.
Josh also emphasized the need for email marketers to build trust with consumers immediately and to establish the necessity for consumers to sign-up for permissioned communications.
Josh shared Response Media’s methodology for scaling brand-consumer relationships: Destination & Distribution, a distributed registration strategy. “Put your offer where the consumer is,†he said. “Registration opportunities where the consumer is online are more efficient and they help build scale.â€
Josh wrapped up his comments with key tactics for driving consumer advocacy. He stated that email marketers must give consumers the reason and the right tools to advocate their products or services. “You have to have something that people want to talk about,†Josh stated. “But half the battle is giving them the right tools to share your offer, your brand, your email program, your message.
