Nutley Mayor Joseph Scarpelli said the concept plans "laid the groundwork," but that he expects significant changes, given the addition of the educational component. He also expects local residents to have a greater role in the process this time around, adding that, with concerns about overcrowding in Nutley's schools, "residential development on the site is certainly going to be something we're going to look at with a sharp eye." "Anything that produces school-age children is not going to be something the public is really going to embrace because of the overcrowding in our schools," Scarpelli said. "So we've got to work through that. That's going to be a big hurdle." The lobby of Building 123 on the former Roche campus, the future home of the Seton Hall-Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine. Despite that, Scarpelli said it was important to acknowledge that "we're excited about the live-work-play concept that Prism has been pushing, and we think it's going to really spur the site."

This year's Peach Party will feature a Perfect Peach Pie Baking Contest, raffle, tastings, recipes, and more to celebrate New Jersey's own locally grown peaches. Amateur bakers of any age are invited to compete in the Perfect Peach Pie Baking Contest sponsored by the New Jersey Peach Promotion Council. Bakers should deliver their peach pie or cobbler and printed recipe to the Greenutley table at the Market between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, August 7 where they will complete a short registration form including name, email address, phone number, and recipe title. Entries can also be submitted in advance by emailing the information to Among our panel of local pie connoisseurs who will judge entries are John Lee of Taste of Montclair and Black Tie & Flip Flops as well as Nutley Mayor Dr. Joseph P. Scarpelli.
