After "retiring," Dr. Paris began part-time public health work with the DeKalb County Health Department. He is a board member of NCCHC, as well as a founding member and Past President of the Society of Correctional Physicians. Dr. Paris is a Fellow of the Society of Correctional Physicians and was the 2002 recipient of the Armond Start Award for Excellence in Correctional Medicine. He is the author of dozens of specialized correctional publications and has presented his work in over a hundred national meetings. Dr. Paris is in demand as a correctional health care consultant, NCCHC surveyor, and as an expert witness in correctional health care litigation.
