Competition Auto Group
was born when auto enthusiast and professional race car driver Joseph C. Buzzetta
founded the business in the form of a small service operation in 1962.
Through the years, Mr. Buzzetta added franchises to his service operation, starting with BMW in the mid sixties and Mercedes-Benz in 1969.
As the business grew, he
moved from his
small property on Smithtown Blvd in Nesconset to the location on Middle Country Road where our Competition BMW
dealership now resides.
As the business expanded throughout the 1970's and 1980's, Mr. Buzzetta
renovated and added capacity to better serve his
growing client base.
At that point, the automotive business proved to be in the family's blood as Joe Buzzetta Jr. joined the business; In 1989, the Competition Infiniti store was built, and in 1992, Competition Toyota of Middle Island was added to the group.
