With the surprise departure of Burbank that leadership role is now bestowed upon Joseph Bodenmiller
has more than 20 years of experience managing programmatic development, strategic development and day-to-day operations for non-profit agencies with annual budgets of up to $5 million.For the past five years he has been the program director for Covenant House New Orleans, which provides shelter and services to homeless, runaway and at-risk youth ages 16-21.An 11-member search committee chaired by Wingspan Board President Linda Olguin hired Bodenmiller.

has huge shoes to fill he
is confident he
will live up to expectations."Kent really worked hard for the organization, his
heart was defiantly in it," said Bodenmiller
According to Bodenmiller
will continue to focus on public policy and advocacy.He
also hopes to expand the services of the organization to reach more people outside the Tucson area."I want to expand the number of people who see Wingspan
and their center and be able to reach out to more Arizona organizations in order to help each other.I am very interested in reaching out to homeless GLBT youth and stress health and wellness in our community.We will reach out and connect with people who are not connected and need our services.Once I get to Arizona and get feedback from the community I will have a better understanding on what direction Wingspan will take in the next year.A lot of it is really going to be hearing what the people need and want."Bodenmiller will begin his career at Wingspan on August 6.
