Dr. Joe Bannon
is a 1990 graduate of Executive Security International's
Advanced Executive Protection Program.
As a Retired Special Agent with the California State Attorney General's Office, Department of Justice - Criminal Intelligence Bureau - Anti Terrorist Unit; he was formerly assigned to the Joint Agency Anti-Terrorist Task Force in Los Angeles as a Tactical Intelligence Agent.
Team conducts covert operations; investigates classified and top secret intelligence information and threats to National Homeland Security, while pursuing and locating violent and dangerous terrorists with an emphasis on Al Qaeda and other enemies of the State and its allies.
Prior to 9-11, Joe was assigned to the Department of Justice "Violence Suppression Unit" in Los Angeles where he served as a cross deputized Special Deputy United States Marshal on "America's Most Wanted" Violent Fugitive Apprehension Team.
The mission statement of this unit was to target violent repeat offender, homicide, murder for hire and other
such classified criminals who use weapons in the commission of serious crimes, and to impact the proliferation of weapons and explosives into the state.
This targeting included single violators, criminal enterprises, street gangs, triads and other forms of organized crime, including terrorist and armed militia groups.
As an additional duty, Bannon's
team functioned as a highly trained Tactical Entry / Special Weapons and Tactics "S.W.A.T." unit that assisted other local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies with the service of extremely high risk search and arrest warrants.

All members of Bannon's
team were certified experts and expert instructors in close quarter battle, defensive tactics, martial arts, tactical raid planning, helicopter air assault, undercover / covert operations, infiltration, surveillance, sharp shooting / marksmanship and special weaponry.
Prior to becoming a Federal and State Special Agent; he was a member of the Police Counter Sniper Team, Street Patrolman and Sergeant / Investigator with the San Francisco Police Department's Special Investigations Bureau in the following capacities: Hate Crimes Unit; Dignitary Protection Unit; Mayor's Protection Detail; Administrative Narcotics Division; Major Dealer and Cartel Section; and Violent Gang Task Force.
As an undercover task force agent covertly assigned to the United States Drug Enforcement Administration "D.E.A," he was the undercover agent in charge of one of the largest covert narcotics operations in the history of the State of California which made international headlines when state politicians were implicated in the support of illegal drug trafficking.
During the years 1992 through 2002, as a Criminal Investigator; Intelligence Officer; Federal Taskforce Agent and Dignitary Protection Specialist; Joe was assigned as the allied agency counterpart to the United States Secret Service - Presidential Protection Detail as close quarter protection agent of President Bill and First Lady Hillary Clinton, George Bush, Mikhail Gorbachev, Pope John Paul II, and other high profile foreign and domestic dignitaries.

He is the founder of the Surgical Strike System of Dim Mak - Kung Fu, a 10th Degree Black Belt Grandmaster and 11 time inductee into the United States, American Police, and International Martial Artist Hall of Fame.
Joe was the Secret Service character study for Gerard Butler and Technical Advisor for the movie, "Olympus Has Fallen," directed by Antoine Fuqua where the White House is attacked by an enemy terrorist organization and "Special Agent Mike Banning" (Gerard Butler) saves the President and the United States all in one day.
At ESI, Joe teaches Advanced Executive Protection, Protective Intelligence, Counter Surveillance, Defensive Tactics, Combat Firearms, Witness and Dignitary Protection for Law Enforcement and PSD Special Operations.
