Jose Panet discovered the world of sculpture in Puerto Rico.
Leaving home at 14 he lived on the beaches of San Juan and learned the art of Wire Sculpture from the Spaniards and Dominicans there.
He later was able to study at the New York Academy of Art, Art Students League, Montoya International, Woodstock School of Art and other schools over the years.
Panet is currently attending the University of Miami to learn the art of bronze casting.
He is continually improving his craft while experimenting in clay, stone, wire, resins and other materials.

In addition to being an active member of the Cultural Development Group where he teaches sculpture and art appreciation through our Disadvantaged Children's Art Program, Panet works at Rex Art and teaches stone sculpture at the Bakehouse Art Complex and private classes of figurative clay sculpture at his studio.
