campaign for election to the District 7 seat of the Duval County School Board
calling for a renewed sense of urgency in our community's push for excellence in our education system.
"Progress is being made in improving our schools," said Heymann who serves as president and CEO of Communities In Schools of Jacksonville.
"However our business community, teachers, parents and most importantly our kids rightfully demand transformational change.
This election provides us an opportunity to begin that type of change, and I'm prepared to lead it."
Heymann, 59, is running for the Mandarin-based seat being vacated by two-term Board Member Tommy Hazouri.

Jon is a father, grandfather, mentor and husband of a public school teacher who has taught in Duval, Putnam and St. Johns counties.
